Getting Started
Curious about CrossFit? Join the revolution!
CrossFit is growing by leaps and bounds across the nation because people are getting fabulous results. It’s addicting and contagious. The first step to getting started is to schedule your BASICS training classes.
In order for you to jump in with the more experienced CrossFit folks you must first go through BASICS training. CrossFit involves many moves and techniques most people are not familiar with. For your safety we want you to do the moves correctly.
Depending on your experience and knowledge, this may require three or more basics sessions outlined below. In these sessions you will learn the nine foundational movements of CrossFit; the squat, front squat, overhead squat, press, push press, push jerk, dead lift, sumo dead lift high pull, and the medicine ball clean. You will also be introduced to the olympic lifts; the snatch and the clean and jerk.
Other topics and movements will be addressed, but those mentioned above will be the primary focus of the sessions. Each session will include a WOD (workout of the day) and last approximately two hours. Be prepared to workout. Bring hand towel and lots of water!
After completing BASICS you will be able to jump into a group class and feel confident in the skills you have learned.
