Rob Heymann joined us again for a grueling ass kickin’ WOD at 6 AM! Great having Rob around! See ya tomorrow! We also had visitors from Seattle, WA, who workout at King CrossFit in Kent. Jeffrey and Michelle Castro, along with their cousin Elsie, suffered through the WOD with us at 9 AM. Thanks so much for the BURPEES SUCK t-shirt!!

It was a real honor hosting Luke (blue Rogue shirt) and Najla Kayyem (pink lei,) owners of CrossFit Scottsdale. They were going to miss the “One Nation Under WOD” workout at their box in Arizona, so they brought it to ours! In addition to Luke and Najla and their two adorable kids, Camille and Kanon, we also had Eric Emerson (yellow lei) and Kerstin Kulseth (blue lei) who were friends of Steve and Sheri (see 8/29 below) from Mill Creek, WA. And in the blue lei behind Luke is Rob Heymann of CrossFit Oakland, CA.

A huge mahalo to Vincent Paquin, an Olympic weightlifting coach from Montreal. He hung around a couple days working with a few of us on the snatch and clean and jerk. He brought his National Champion girlfriend with him. Emily Quarton was the first alternate for the 2008 Olympic Team. The coaching and demonstration was unbelievable. Having both of them in the box was an honor and a gift. Mahalo!

We welcomed Kristopher Orre from San Jose (ooops, can’t recall which box!) Kris, having never done a weighted pull up before, learned he could do one with 35#. Fortunately we have a pull up bar high enough for tall guys. Nice work Kris. Mahalo for visiting!

How great this CrossFit community is. It’s like an old friend coming back to visit when a CrossFit rejoins us after having been here a year or so ago. Welcome back John Lovins from Ohio Krav Maga!

Mahalo to Steve and Sherri Lee for dropping in…. in fact we are enjoying their company all week! These two workout at Outer Edge CrossFit in Mill Creek, WA, as well as CrossFit Northwest Tucson when they fly south for the winter. These guys were the greatest. They even built us four new boxes!!! It was a real pleasure having you guys at the box!
8/19/11 Brandon Bennett paid us a visit this morning from Graham CrossFit in Puyallup, WA. It was so inspiriting to listen to the progress he has made in the few short months he has been doing CrossFit. Thanks for making the drive from the west side Brandon. We will see you in Puyallup in December!

Relatives John and Deming Lackey spent a week with us hitting the WODs hard every day! Rumor has it they both joined a box upon their return to Arizona, John in Scottsdale and Deming in Flagstaff at NAU!
