Rethinking Wendler. Thurs, Jan 20
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause of prevention of disease.” – Thomas Edison
Recently coach Jor forwarded one of Freddy’s posts about strength biased programing. Due to his findings I am changing things up a bit. In a nut shell doing the strength sets at the beginning of the workout takes up too much time. We are often rushed to get set up and then do the WOD. Frequently there is little or no time at the end to do our mobility moves or stretch. So we are going to allow those who wish to pursue the strength training to do so outside the regularly scheduled class times. Come early or stay after. We are also discussing adding “open gym” days and times to allow people to come in, do a WOD they missed earlier in the week or catch up on their strength work. More to come!
Warm up: Greg Amundson
WOD #1; 5 rounds for time;
5 Deadlifts
10 Vertical Jumps
15 DB Bench Press
WOD #2; After adequate rest we will do another Prowler team WOD. If time permits we will take them over to the lawn. Otherwise, bring earplugs!
