WELCOME NEW COACH KOREY & ALISSA!
We are excited to introduce our newest CrossFit Upcountry Maui coach, Korey, and his wife, Alissa, who moved to Maui from Southern California in July. Korey has four years experience as a CF athlete and two as a coach; he helped start his friend’s now successful box, CrossFit Lifted, in Ontario, Calif.
Korey will be coaching two CrossFit Upcountry classes a week at varied days / times. He will lead his first solo classes at 5:45 and 8 a.m. today after a few weeks of being shadowed by Frank.
As an athlete, Korey resembles legend Chris Spealler, who’s pound-for-pound one of the strongest in the sport, a gift that’s balanced with advanced gymnastics and conditioning. Korey has 27 (plus?) rounds in the benchmark workout Cindy; and you’ll see him doing crazy tricks (crazy to us — we’re so sheltered) on the rings and the Rogue Infinity Rig during group WODs.
But being a CrossFit stud is one thing; they’re a dime a dozen nowadays. What really impresses us is Korey’s authentic care for people. As much as he is focused on athletics in this Sport of Fitness, this coach doesn’t stop at the exterior. He strives to improve character, integrity, relationship, the heart stuff, the unseen things, the lasting.
These rare qualities are also exemplified in Korey’s wife, Alissa. It’s like you’re talking to someone you’ve known for years. Genuine. Funny. Kind. Intelligent. The connection was instant for us, and we are confident you’ll feel the same.
We are thankful to have found two new friends in Korey and Alissa. Welcome to CrossFit Upcountry!
