Andrew is moving back to his Colorado home state in a little over a week, and he’s taking a piece of our hearts with him. The former triathlete has been with us since our grand opening last spring; he regularly attends 6 a.m. classes. Andrew is also the one who helped bring star CF athlete Andrea Ager to our box. As a result of his efforts, we had an awesome Fourth of July event at CFUM.

During his short time with us, which is his first experience in CrossFit, he got muscle-ups, sick technique on his Olympic lifts (he won the in-house meet a couple months back) and smoking times on some intense WODs.

More than his athletic feats, though, he’s managed to chip away at our stone-cold hearts to form some great friendships with many at our box. We’re sad/mad you’re leaving us. But we’re blessed to have met you. Now get out before we start tearing up. We never want to see you again. Kidding. It’s just our way of handling goodbyes.

Andrew says he’s coming back. But we’ve all heard that one before.

In the meantime, CELEBRATE with us! We’re hanging out Saturday for the following:

• 11:30 A.M — BEACH IN WEST MAUI: Bring your most oddly shaped floaties. Alligators, water wings, doughnuts, whatever. We’re going to take some ridiculous pictures. Get directions by texting Kehau – 281 6925.

• 5 P.M. — HAPPY HOUR AT CAFE MAMBO: Food and drink specials go till 6 p.m. We are relocating in Paia afterward.
