CrossFit Upcountry Maui’s Grand Reopening is slated for 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the box, 850 Haliimaile Road, Makawao. Local CrossFit affiliate owners and members, friends and family are invited; we’d love to have you hang out in the rugged, country hangout we call home.

• WHAT: Grand reopening and blessing

• WHO: Local CF friends and family

• WHEN: Saturday, April 13

4 p.m. thank you speech / blessing

5 p.m. bodyweight partner WOD, which will include running the off-road Sugar House Mile

6 p.m. pupus

• COST: Free

• WHY: This is mostly a chance to sweat it out then hang out; we’d also like to thank local affiliates, friends and family for encouragement through our community’s transition. April marks one year since Frank and Kehau took the lead at CFUM.

CFUM OFFICIAL AFTER-PARTY

CrossFit Upcountry Maui athlete Kit Okazaki (right) has skills that reach beyond the box. Kit, a talented saxophonist and member of local band Nuff Sedd (pictured above), will be performing with Dani Girl and the Kryptones at Charley’s in Paia for CFUM’s official after-party at 9 p.m. Sat., April 13. The party is also a chance to say goodbye to Jess, who’s heading back to New York on April 16. Spread the word about the after-party — Kit is kind of a big deal!
